This simple tip can make you a better parent
There’s no such thing as a perfect parent, and everyone loses their cool with their kids sometimes. Yelling, criticizing and sarcasm are fairly common “bad parenting” behaviors that almost all parents are guilty of once in a while – we’re only human. No one wants to, but it happens.
This simple idea from Modern Parents Messy Kids could squash this negative behavior and strengthen the relationship you have with your children. All you need are five rings.
Start with all five rings on one hand, and each time you lose your patience, yell, or experience another kind of negative setback with your temper or attitude, move a ring to the other hand. The rings don’t have to be rings either. They could be bracelets or hair ties, or whatever works for you.
Don’t get discouraged if you end up moving all five rings before noon – you’re only competing against yourself. Make a conscious effort to try harder tomorrow, and maybe someday soon you’ll find yourself with all of your rings where they started.
