In the entirety of our justice system, I don’t think we’ve had someone so inherently terrible as the Affluenza kid.

Quick refresher – Ethan Couch is the teenager who went and got drunk, went driving, and killed four people in a crash. He paid no real recourse, when his legal defense turned out to be a new medical crisis known as “affluenza” aka “he was raised so poorly by his rich parents that he didn’t understand right from wrong”. Which is apparently a thing. He was put on prohibition, and that was the end of that.

Well, until recently, when a video surfaced of him at a party was posted online.

Not too long after that, he failed to show up at his prohibitory meeting. And anywhere, really. He’d vanished, along with his mother.

Because sometimes people are just the worst.

Well, luckily, the worst of all teenagers has been caught, along with his mother, in a shore town in Mexico. They were attempting to blend in with the rest of the tourist town. He will be charged, and hopefully brought to justice properly this time.

And good riddance.
