Taking Time for Yourself Makes You a Better Mom

Hannah Morrison from the Adventures in Motherhood blog recently wrote a post that is sure to touch any mother who reads it. Morrison speaks of juggling work, parenting, and keeping the house clean among countless other activities. She noticed that she felt guilty for working outside the home and was avoiding leaving the house aside from work to minimize time away from her family. After awhile, this exhausting lifestyle takes its toll.

Morrison had an unused gift certificate for a mani/pedi collecting dust along with her gym membership. When she realized just how worn out she was, she had the important realization that she needs to take time for herself. She went to the gym and immediately felt happier, which led to her being a happier mother and wife. Taking care of yourself allows you to take care of your family, so go do something nice for yourself without the side of guilt.
