Let’s talk about breasts

Breasts are a lot of different things to a lot of different people. They have the power to attract a mate, and feed a baby. They are at once beautiful and, to some, shameful – something to be hidden away when society deems them inappropriate. The world is obsessed with breasts.

Jessica martin-Weber at The Leaky Boob has an excellent commentary on the subject of breasts and how the women they’re attached to are viewed, and how we view ourselves.

Women who don’t have large breasts may feel inadequate and unfeminine, turning to breast implants in fear of not being good enough. Breasts are a comforting part of the nurturing experience for our children, likely based in biology. There are so many different kinds of boob love that it can be difficult to bounce around between them and people get confused, and that’s how you get the breastfeeding controversy.

Women need to take a stand; we are more than our breasts!
