New USDA Nutrition Guidelines Will Cover Infants
Because many mothers are confused about what is needed to feed their baby, the government has decided to step into the matter and help them. This is the first time that the government will issue feeding guidelines and recommendations for what mothers can feed their babies from birth to 24 months. A registered dietician has stated that it is important the mothers know what to feed their babies from birth to 2 years of age and that is why the newly released guidelines are important. The expert told a reporter that from birth to 3 years is when the personality and psychology of people develop and this development occurs in very strong ways. This period is also a period when the child’s brain development and ability to taste food is most important. The dietician states that due to the prevalence of fast foods and unhealthy food, teaching good nutrition to children is a trend that has gone downhill in recent times. The guidelines for children is being issued by the U.S department of agriculture.
