Giving Up For Your Family – Player Retires From Baseball for Son
I’ve always had a soft spot for baseball. It was one of the sports my father loved, so I grew up hearing about and seeing baseball, everywhere. I even think some of my first crushes were the players I saw on the field. And it turns out, some players make amazing fathers too?
Adam LaRoche is a Major League Baseball player, formerly playing with the Chicago White Sox. I say “formerly” because the thirty six year old pro athlete retired from the team and forfeited the remaining thirteen million dollars on his contract. It all came out of a dispute between team executive vice president Ken Williams and LaRoche, over whether his son was allowed to be in the team clubhouse. And while the sacrifice must sting, his fellow players are in overwhelming support for their teammate.
