The Diet Guide
Eating right is hard, but it’s among the most important things to consider when you’re a parent. You have to make sure you’re informed, and this is how you do it.
The newest dietary guidelines have been released from Health.gov, and they introduce some small changes to the list. While the plan is relatively similar to previous guidelines, it does address new findings made by the World Health Organization. The changes outline the danger of added sugars, which can lead to obesity, heart disease, Type 2 diabetes, and even some forms of cancer. They also address the high levels of protein present in teenage boys and men, from eating too much meat. In general, the guidelines advise against consuming too much meat and switching over more often to fruit and vegetables. But on the bright side? Coffee got a real boost in standing, with five eight-ounce cups allowed per day.
