The internet is able to help produce a lot of very useful and meaningful contributions to our average day, and sometimes it’s also literally the worst thing oh my God.

For example, take this New York mother. She was curious about what her preteen daughter was getting up to online. So, she got into her Facebook, and lo and behold, she discovered a grown man she didn’t know, messaging her daughter. She went and did more research, and found out that her daughter had been contacted by Dennis Williams, a convicted Level 2 sex offender. She immediayly contacted the police and, with their help, were able to bring him into justice. And on top of that? Williams had also been contacting hundreds of other girls, all under fifteen.

So, in short, keep an eye on what’s happening in your families social media. Be wary of creepers. And join me and saluting this New York Mom for doing a really good job at Mom-ing.
