Keeping an Eye Out on the TV
TV is great and all, but that doesn’t make it the best thing for the kids to obsess over. And with the ever changing world of it, the temptation to go nuts with it can sometimes be overwhelming. We’ve all binge-watched something on Netflix, and if it had been around when we were kids we would have definitely watched as much as possible. babycenter has put together a few good ideas regarding that, and how to keep your kids from watching too much.
It really does come down to you, though. Keep an eye out for shows that have shorter episodes than a full half hour. It gives you more opportunity to break it up with an activity of some kind. And trust me, help… “guide” them to a show that you can stand. Every time I even think about the Wiggles, I just want to scream. It’s important to keep an eye on the kind of show they’re watching, too. An exciting adventure full of spectacle and explosions might not be the best thing right before bed time.
TV can be a great bonding and educational tool. Just keep an eye on it, you know?
