Changing November 3rd Forever
This one may open sad, but trust me, the message cancer survivor Gabriel Aljalian and his family sent out on November 3rd is wonderful
On November 3rd, 2012, Gabriel Aljalian and his family were told he had been diagnosed with Leukemia. Only three years old, Gabriel and his family persevered, and took on every challenge the disease presented. Gabriel – who, again, was only three – went into chemotherapy and had to endure steroid therapy. But even though it was one of the most trying times in their lives, none of them lost hope.
Now, in 2015, and Gabriel is six years old, in first grade, and in remission. In an attempt to take one of the darkest days of their lives and make it something special instead, his family went online and asked a simple request – do something kind for someone else. All across the world, people responded, and turned November 3rd into Gabriel’s Day of Kindness. Their statement reads, “We ask you to join in our gratitude by performing acts of kindness in Gabriel’s honor. Any act of kindness that you are moved to do in your heart, we are absolutely thankful for.”
