Oh The Mamas You’ll Meet!

I did it, y’all.

I bit the bullet.

I joined the Tinder But For Mom-Friends App (Peanut) that everyone’s been talking about.

And oh, what a journey it’s been!  And is still being!

Join me, won’t you, for a stroll down recent-memory lane, of my summer of mom-friend love, and see what kinds of friends you too can try to make between running around getting all those back to school forms filled out by the pediatrician (whyyyyyy can I not email these?!), boxing up the outgrown clothes to take to consignment (I shed a tear for you, cutest overall shorties that no longer fit!) and trying to make it to the splash pad as many times as possible before they shutter the sprinklers for Labor Day (NOOOOOOOO).

The Non-Starter

You start up a conversation!  They fall off the face of the planet after “Hi!”  Whyyyyy did you up-vote me if you don’t wanna say hi???  TALK TO MEEEEEE.

The Person Who Can’t Think of How to Have a Conversation

You ask chatty questions!  They don’t…answer them?

The Bailer

You click!  You make plans!  The day comes! They baaaaaaail!

The Conjoined Couple

Being in a loving relationship is great!  It’s….kind of awkward on a moms-meeting-moms website tho to refer to yourself as “we” and have, like, only photos of you from your wedding.

Date My Kid!

We love sandboxes and swings and slides!  Okaaaaaaaaay but I’m not trying to mom-friend-date your kids, I’m trying to mom-friend-date you!  Unless you mean you, a grown person, love sandboxes and swings and slides. Which….okay? Everybody likes what they like!  But also, I don’t think this is going to work (I hate sand).

The Love Of Your Mom Life

You connect on multiple levels!  They chat! YOU FORGET TO REPLY BECAUSE LIFE COMES UP AND YOU DIDN’T SET YOUR SETTINGS TO NOTIFY YOU OF CHATS.  *waves* um hi friend-o, sorry about that. *waves sadly* I am the wooooooorst!

So okay, maybe we all fail a little sometimes.  Which is to say…maybe I’ll try to up-vote a little more often than not, just in case I’m not getting a full picture of someone from their profile (when in the history of online profiles has that actually happened?), just like my failure to reply to someone I genuinely wanted to connect with because of (let’s face it) life overwhelm and tech-ambivalence.

So get out there!  Meet mom friends! And try to schedule around those nap schedules as best as you can!  (hahahahahaaaa… *sob*)
