Reminding Myself that Babies are Unpredictable
Young developing babies can be at times a handful. What works one day may at any moment change and to a baby is no longer interesting. A baby may in the beginning enjoy napping on mom or dads chest or laid down for a while but in an instant it seems that is no longer enjoyable. A baby as it develops also enhances cognitive abilities and may find ways to get what they want through repetitive patterns of behavior. Be prepared for the evolution of the baby and understand it is called growth not stagnation.
Key Takeaways:
- Parents cannot predict or control how babies will react at any given moment.
- Parents shouldn’t be so hard on themselves when babies don’t do what parents want or expect.
- Parents must learn to expect the unexpected when it comes to infants.
