Having Kids Might Just Increase Your Lifespan
New research out of Sweden and published in the Journal of Epidemiology & Community Health has found that having children can help you live longer. The research can not find a reason why but men with at least one child live two years longer while women with children live a year and a half longer.
Key Takeaways:
- Study shows that parents live two years longer than people without kids
- Considering the human lifespan is already pretty variable, we’re not really sure how maybe gaining two years is a scientific result worth noting
- We think the 1 to 2 extra years of life for parents can be attributed to the “when are you going to finally give me some grandchildren” phenomenon — but then, we are not the scientists here
“But even so, researchers from Sweden discovered that people with children might live two years longer than those without children.”
