Mothers and Teachers Agree – the Importance of Reading
Reading is one of the most important factors in the lives of young children. And I’m not the only one who feels that way – a group of mothers and teachers shared their opinions about it, and how they agree.
They shared their thoughts, and it’s actually really sweet.
“As a teacher, I can not stress enough the importance of reading to your child (and then having him or her continue reading after learning how). (Nine) times out of (ten), I can tell which children were read to and have reading support at home and it makes a HUGE difference.
It not only helps them become better readers, but also better writers, and better speakers. I see the separation on a daily basis and I just thought about sharing this today.”
And she isn’t the only one who wants to do everything she can to preach reading at a young age. Another teacher (and mother) shared her story.
“I’m not worried about her reading early or late, but I wholeheartedly agree that reading is so important. My three year olds favorite time of day is still storytime and one of her first signs was book!”
