When you become a parent, a whole new set of priorities take over your life. Every visit to the doctor is a terrifying ordeal, every call is bad news, everything could go wrong at a moments notice. But most of the time, all those fears go unheeded, and nothing goes wrong. Every once in a while, those fears are answered, but your fears and trepidations finally came in handy.
And sometimes, a doctor puts your child through an unneeded surgery because they are terrible at being doctors.
Jennifer Melton, a new mother from Lebanon, thought her newborn son Nate was going with the medical staff to preform basic check ups. Instead, her son returned crying, and with a new surgery scar for a procedure he didn’t need.
Forget the accidental surgery. Forget that it turned out that the doctor had honestly mistaken the baby for another. Forget that the hospital won’t talk about. The fact that the parents had no idea what was going to happen? That’s unacceptable.
