Brittneyrose Torres is a 26 year old California resident. Earlier this year, she spoke with a (seemingly) lovely couple, and together, they agreed for Brittneyrose to serve as the surrogate mother for the couple.

Seventeen weeks in, Brittneyrose learned that, thanks to the two eggs spliting, she is now pregnant with triplets. Unfortuantly, this apparently breaks the contract with the couple she’s been carrying these children for, and they refuse to deal with a third baby. So, for them, the simpliest solution is to abort the third child and simply have twins.

That’s… look, you can be pro life or pro choice, I think we can all agree that deciding “meh, two’s good, don’t worry about the spare” is a pretty messed up way to respond to the news you’re having triplets. Brittneyrose refused outright to abort the third child, and has even offered to adopt the unwanted daughter herself, because she is just the best. But the murky legality of the situation has put her in between a rock and a hard place.

Stay strong, Brittneyrose, and also? Everyone? We kinda need to fix some loopholes in Surrogate contracts.
