Science is Amazing: Boy with Severed Spine Walks Again
Sometimes, terrible things happen to good people. It’s a fact of life. But sometimes? The world comes through for you.
Take Jaxon Taylor, only 16 months old when the car carrying him and his family was involved in a head on collision. While the rest of his family suffered moderate injuries, the crash immediately broke Jaxon’s neck, and by all accounts should have died. But after being airlifted to a hospital, surgeons were able to refashion one of his ribs to fuse his severed vertebrae.
A few weeks on, and with the help of a neck brace, physical training, and old fashioned love, Jaxon is back on his feet… literally. The boy is still working his way through crawling and walking, and generally being a two year old boy.
To the doctors, everyone owes them at least a high five. And congrats, Jaxon, and best wishes on the continued recovery.
