How to Clean Your Breast Pump
Your breast pump is a very important piece of equipment. For the times you can’t be there to breastfeed your baby directly, your pump ensures your baby always has breastmilk. Your breast pump comes with a lot of parts that need to be washed daily, but it’s really pretty easy.
You don’t have to wash your pump after each use. Just rinse it thoroughly and store it in the fridge. It’s a good idea to keep it in a washable, waterproof wet bag so you don’t get milk droplets everywhere. Then at the end of the day, wash the whole thing in hot soapy water.
Unless your baby has a medical condition that requires extra precautions like sterilization, soap and water is all you need. In fact, harsher cleaning methods like boiling could damage the plastic parts.
