Prepackaged toddler foods have too much salt and sugar
As a parent you want what’s best for your children, and that includes feeding them a balanced diet full of all the nutrients they need to grow. Unfortunately many packaged foods meant for toddlers contain a lot of extra salt and sugar that greatly surpasses recommended amounts.
A study by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention brought this to light. What’s worrisome is that almost all toddler foods across the board are guilty of excessive salt and/or sugar, no matter the brand or whether it’s considered organic or not.
It’s important to always read labels and understand what your kids are eating. If they develop a preference for unhealthy food and habits early in life it could cause them difficulties and medical problems down the road.
