Hold her!
In a podcast I heard recently, Andy Stanley mentioned that investing time and effort into something important causes a change in a person. Family is the most important thing to me, and of them, my daughter Bellamy. Going from a stay at home mom to working a full-time job in my new career, I knew it was going to take time away from my daughter. She is eight months old and I feared that it was going to effect my relationship with her by not being with her. She has her father or her grandmother to watch her but it’s not the same. Working full-time for nearly nine months, I’m become sentimental even more so, the time with her is precious to me. One morning, while balancing between getting ready for work and changing her diapers, she was extra fussy. Though I was already ten minutes late, I dropped everything and just held her while I cried. This helped me know that the time spent with her, as young as she is, definitely has an effect on her and is extra special. My advice is, hold your child while they are still young.
