Preeclampsia is a condition that pregnant women with risk factors such as high blood pressure, kidney disease, lupus, diabetes and heart disease are prone to. Preeclampsia can worsen if not treated. Preeclampsia can result in still births in some cases. It can also be a serious risk to the mother who is pregnant by creating complications during pregnancy such as strokes, seizures, kidney malfunction, and bleeding problems. For women diagnosed with Preeclampsia, it is recommended to have an ultrasound every four weeks to monitor the baby’s growth.
