Parents underestimate kids’ access to firearms, study finds
Most parents who one guns, underestimate their kids ability to gain access to the guns. Guns are a leading cause of children under the age of 21 and many parents do not know that their children are even able to obtain their guns. There are a few steps a parent can take to properly secure guns from their kids. Start by storing unloaded guns in a spot kids can not easily gain access and be sure that it is in a locked gun safe. Also store ammo in another spot that is also hard to access and locked. Use gun safety equipment, such as trigger locks. Most importantly be sure that your children are taught that guns are dangerous if used improperly and that they are not toys.
