Learning to Take Care of a Sister like a Daughter
David Murphey is not who you would describe as the typical parent. Two years ago, his partner Stephen and he found themselves with a sudden change in their lives- Stephen’s 39 year old special needs sister Angela was in need of a home, and they graciously took her in.
In doing so, they’ve been learning what it’s like to be a parent. From the little things like brushing her hair or the big stuff like fighting over what constitutes a healthy breakfast (and no, cupcakes don’t count). And together, they’ve made a family just as real as any other.
