New Study Shows Your Newborn Can See Facial Expressions
Previously, researchers have tried to determine what newborns can see, but limited their studies to still photos. New research from Stockholm used images in motion, changing the levels of contrast and resolution to identify what was needed for an infant to gaze directly toward the figure. They found that newborns could see facial expressions from a short distance, such as between the child and the mother while nursing. When the distance increased, the image became blurred.
