Examining the #brelfie controversy
If you’re unaware, a “brelfie” is a breastfeeding selfie, usually taken by a mother breastfeeding her baby. Mothers have been posting these photos as a means to normalize breastfeeding and spread awareness of discrimination, but others see it as exhibitionism.
Carolyn Robertson at the Baby Center blog has a commentary on the subject, and she believes the backlash from these photos is proof that there are still many barriers to overcome before breastfeeding is socially accepted.
