Ashley Graham Is Using Her Social Platforms To Promote Breastfeeding, And We Are Here For It

Plus sized-model and all-around bombshell Ashley Graham and her husband Justin Ervin recently welcomed their son, Isaac Menelik Giovanni Ervin, into the world on January 18th, 2020, in an intimate home birth setting. Graham, who is no stranger to sharing her life online, soon took to social media to share her experiences regarding child-birth, postpartum and breastfeeding with her 10.3+ million followers.

The model has posted several images of herself nursing her son on Instagram, and the response has been shocking. The backlash that Graham has received proves that despite the 2018 law permitting mothers in all 50 states to breastfeed in public spaces, society still has a long way to go in the normalization of nursing in public.

Although the criticism has been plentiful, Graham has also received equal parts supportive and encouraging comments from fans and fellow moms, further proving the polarizing nature of the conversation surrounding public nursing.

Despite the backlash, Graham is showing no signs of stopping, and by doing so, is bringing awareness, inspiring conversation, and encouraging other moms to exercise their right to breastfeed their babies- whenever and wherever they see fit.
