I’ll tell you why mom phone guilt is a complete load of crap
So-called “mom phone guilt” often discussed in blog posts and Facebook statuses is a load of crap. It’s the latest expert-created phenomenon that judges mothers for spending too much time on their phones, which is damaging their children. The cure for this is to pledge to spend less time on your phone. The truth is, the average mom needs to be hyper-connected because of the constant bombardment of last-minute messages from schools, coaches, and project leaders cancelling events and changing venues and start times. The expectation is that mothers should be perfectly on point with their children’s itineraries in real-time. And until that changes and the messages stop coming, moms will be checking their phones with increasing regularity.
