The secret to screen-free time this summer

TIPS TO REDUCE SCREEN TIME AND GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR SUMMER WITH THE KIDS
#1 LISTEN TO YOUR KIDS
During the school year it is very difficult to find time for impromptu adventures. As the school days are winding down, listen to their suggestions. If there are parks, play gyms, nature centers, a playground nearby or even far away that have activities your kids will enjoy, talk with them and find out what their interest is and how interested they would be to visit locally or afar.
#2 DESIGNATE THE SPACE
Be sure to have designated areas for hands on and minds on activities. Setting up a reading nook for quiet time, building a blanket fort so that Mom and Dad can be a damsel or a dragon while they defend the fortress is an amazing way to make memories. Setting up an activity table with paper, coloring items, scissors and glue are bound to get imaginations billowing creativity.
#3: KNOW THE RULES
Staying consistent with screen times will teach them time management along with satisfaction of getting to do what they want after a round of chores are completed. Sure, you will get tired of being asked when, when, when? Eventually it will become routine and they will know they have XX minutes in a time frame the you deem appropriate. Hang in there, it will get easier and be oh so rewarding.
