Why special-needs moms have more children, despite the risks

Although they often face both individual struggles and societal backlash, parents to special-needs children, such as those with Downs syndrome, often have more children later on than other parents. This seems to defy logic– but it really displays the qualities of acceptance and tolerance that parents with special needs children have, and need to have. The choice to have more children after the birth of a special needs child often comes with a higher risk of later children developing special needs, but parents of these children, correctly, know that this does not impact the love and bond they share.
