At what age is nudity inappropriate?

With all the splish-splashing and water love sure to happen this summer, oftentimes kids decide that fewer clothes is better, and who can blame them? Some parents are envious of their child’s ability to run wild, naked and free on the beach and encourage it, while others prefer to avoid starting something they can’t stop.

The topic of what age is appropriate for child nudity is debated often, but there seems to be a consensus of age 3 or so. At that age, children are becoming more aware of differences and begin asking questions. Once they reach that stage of development, it’s probably time to teach them swimsuit love.
