In fact, make it a rule that when people come to see the baby, they do a chore for you. It might feel weird to ask, but it will make your life easier! On that same note, consider hiring a responsible teenager to help you around the house a couple times a week.

Don’t feel guilty about doing little “forbidden” conveniences for a while. Use plastic single-use tableware, and if cloth diapering feels like a major task at first, you can use disposables for a while and switch later.
